Why am I walking? And why did I walk?
Why did I choose to walk again?
Still remain pretty good questions.

BTW, this question is asked of every Pilgrim in SJPP at the start before you get your Pilgrim Passaporte (called your ‘Credential’) and at the end of completing your Camino.. … and is documented before you get your Compostela.

So,.. I’ve felt ‘the call’ to go back to Espana ever since first Camino in 2021 (and already feel the ‘nudge’ to finish my Norte Camino in the future).

‘The Call’ -to go back on Camino in Espana. Why? And what does this look like?

As you know I met many that have returned to Espana (Herr Holger (from Frankfurt) 3 times, Lars (from Germany) 5+ times, Christina & Juaren (from home in France) 4+ times, Christopher (from LA) 7 plus times (also walked the entire Frances to the ocean and then back to the beginning in France again in one round trip Camino ! )and ‘the Dude (unofficial ambassador of Camino)’ from southern Spain 14 times! …most of the people I met in 2021 have already returned 2+ times..…… (but just the same most of us ‘feel’ we are still on Camino, when back home……)

Insert favorite quote here:
“There is meaning in every journey that is unknown to the traveler”
– Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

I am a huge Bonhoeffer fan (Pastor, Prophet, Martyr, Spy). This is a favorite DB quote of mine.
This, along with my posts, will start to sketch an image of why I chose to walk the Camino de Santiago Fall of 2021 and returned in 2023. I will follow a similar format in
documenting my 2023 pilgrimage on the Norte and when walking the original and oldest Camino of all - the Primitivo, which dates to the 9th century, initiated by King Alfonso II. Thank you, ‘Alf’..

Walking Camino certainly checks off all four of my (lifestyle) buckets which I call my 4 Fs;

Faith. Family. Friends. Fitness

Notice I did not nor will I talk about a 5th F - Filosophy - in this blog, I simply want to document my experience with images and a few random thoughts as I end each day blogging, which I hope inspire you in some way, possibly inspiring you to plan a Camino..
As I purposed my first Camino 9 years ago … I am exceedingly blessed to have successfully completed my first Camino. And subsequent Caminos

As this life event made the Top 10 list of my life, I was fortunate enough to have the resources, support for my family, and physical ability and returned in fall 2023 and hope and pray to return to Espana again, one day.

You may ask what the domain name means? And so, what is ‘Lagom’ (Clue)

Lagom (pronounced “la-gohm”) is the Swedish philosophy that focuses on finding balance in your everyday lifestyle

Lagom philosophy focuses on creating and living out a balanced, sustainable lifestyle that welcomes the pleasures of doing/being rather than those of consumption.

Hence;
’Live a Lagom life’

*This site was cobbled together on the fly on the Camino with my iPhone - layout view is optimized for mobile and loading speed. Image resolution was optimized -there may be formatting and grammatical errors while I update live on Camino that I cannot fix w/o desktop access available when I return. If viewed on desktop it is best to shrink your window to a narrower size for best viewing experience

Navigation NOTE: Mobile or cell phone screen view — In the upper right corner are 2 horizontal lines = (mobile view only) which provide site navigation to all sections.
You’ll see my Camino Frances blog is divided into 3 chapters and an epilogue (the “Long Goodbye”) *** My 2023 Camino Norte and Primitivo links appear here as well on the home page left margin (large screen viewing).

Again, I will endeavor to share a quote each day reflecting on what I am thinking and feeling through someone else’s words which continue to inspire me . I want to inspire you too, to consider this ‘thing’ called Pilgrimage.

“We don't think about pilgrimage in this country. We don't think about meditation. The idea of taking a six-week walk is totally foreign to most Americans. But it's probably exactly what we need”

 - Emilio Estevez
