The many Camino Routes all tie into the Frances (800km) at the end. I met pilgrims that walked out their front doors starting in England, Germany, France, Switzerland, and all over Espana ! And repeat peregrinos walking their subsequent Caminos (4th, 7th, 16th) on rutas such as:
Via de la Plata 1000km (Seville)
Camino de Levante 900km (Valencia)
Norte 830km (Irun)
Portugues 650km (Lisboa)
Primitivo 325km (Olveido)

Ultreia !

Autonomous Regions of Northern Spain. I started in Hondarribia, and bicycled to Gihon. From there I took a bus to start my Camino Primitivo at Oviedo continuing to Santiago

Elevation changes for the Camino Del Norte from the French border (Irun). I cycled the Norte from Hondarribia (Irun) until Gihon.

‘La Meseta’ can clearly be seen in the middle third - starting at Burgos. It is comprised of a great plain - very flat and very few trees for shade along the way. It is typically traversed in the better part of 9 days. Last third is Galicia heading into Santiago is purportedly fantastically beautiful. I can’t wait! (minor detail of significant elevation changes)

Stages Camino Frances including FinsterreNOTE: I have set a personal goal to hike to the end of the world - Finsterre - after a successful completion in Santiago. -another 89 km should be nothing, right😳?

‘Typical’ (guide book driven) Stages Camino Frances including Finsterre

NOTE: I have set a personal goal to hike to the end of the world - Finsterre / Fisterra - after a successful completion in Santiago. Another 89 km should be nothing, right😳?

Detail maps for the last five days of the journey. I’ll spend a night in Negreira, Santa Marina, and Hospital before I finally get to Finsterre !

Detail maps for the last five days of the journey. Some do it in three. Some do the Hospital-Muxia-Fisterra loop. Not this hombre. I’ll spend a night in Negreira, Santa Marina, and Corcubion before I finally get to Finsterre ! Despues, after, a taxi ride to Muxia to see the sights and reflect on the accomplishment. This walking was an incredibly beautiful and contemplative ‘wind down’ to the ‘workout’. I am so thankful I did this…..
